Remake

Remake are a Brooklyn based design studio who work on a wide range of projects from exhibition to full rebrands for a scope of clients. Their work has only recently come to my attention through a number of  design blogs, I must admit, the intitial showcase of their work reminds me a bit of Design Project which is a studio I really admire both in terms of their design process and the consistent high quality of their final design solutions, so I was pretty excited to find out more. Anyway, read this:

'We strive to produce work for our clients that stands firmly outside the ephemeral cycle of visual trends and their built-in expiration dates. Our design focuses on the elemental and the essential, and moves away from empty styling, current fashions, and the pursuit of a superficial novelty simply for novelty’s sake. Remake’s work is based on a simple premise: each project presents a unique and engaging communication problem, and we use design to solve the problem with clarity. Research-based strategies form the core of our conceptual approach, while a dedication to technique and craft ensures that work for our clients is meticulously executed, as well as intelligently conceived.'

Taken from their website, I think this pretty much sums up their practice and the type of working practice I would aim to develop and experience in the near future. Again this is very similar to a lot of my favourite design studios, which again reinforces my short term and long term aims after the course. Anyway, moving on, here are some samples of their work which I have selected that I feel reflects their practice aswell as the things I like about their work and how it informs my own design practice.

I think in general, their work simply demonstrates a high standard of design and production understanding, combined with the attention to detail, focusing on communicating the message and delivered with the attention to format and interaction. Definitely another studio to get in contact with for the context brief.
