Been pushing on with the materials for Laura Stubbs recently, focused mainly on the identity to start with before working solidly on the look book. One of the issues with working on this type of brief is managing my time and being able to multi task, by working on a series of different materials at the same time.
Particularly for this brief, I've been constantly working on 4 separate documents at the same time, switching from one thing to another so that the range of materials develop consistently. I'm not sure if this is the correct way of working, but so far it's suitable for my practice as I seem to progress quite quickly and having to work on all the different materials at the same time, allow me to distribute my ideas and time evenly between them. I'm reminded of the importance of managing my time and to be constantly thinking about how a series of things need to work and flow together rather than working on one product and applying the decisions made with that onto a range of other materials.
I think the images below illustrates my thoughts quit clearly. One document for spread developments, one for covers, business cards and letterheads. Just through viewing them like this, I am able to get a rough idea of how well they sit together as a set.
