Spin is one of my all time favourite design studios who I have blogged about endless times now, but felt that it was time to mention them again along with Unit Editions which is a relatively new publishers initiated by Adrian Shaughnessy and Tony Brook (Spin). I have been an admirer of Unit Editions since it was first established probably less than 2 years ago, they produce some of the best publications for designers/ creatives as they focus on specific but more insightful topics mainly around the subject of graphic design and visual culture.
I decided to mention Unit Editions & Spin because of how much their book Studio Culture has influenced my thinking and ideas for the design context brief. Studio Culture, which is one of my first publications by Unit Editions has been a reference point since 2nd year; I think it has influenced me quite significantly in terms of how I've developed as a designer, and ultimately remain as one of the main books that I still pick up now and again. This is also a particularly influential book towards my design context brief. The subject matter, content, design direction and way the content is delivered is very strong. Something that I'm still trying to get my head round for my own publication.
