Laura Stubbs is a final year fashion design student at Leeds College of Art, who wants to develop a brand identity for herself as a menwear designer and illustrator, branding and a range of materials for her end of year collection including, promotional materials, lookbook and art direction for the photography.
After a hectic couple of weeks, I eventually got round to speaking to Laura properly about the type of work that she's after, what's required of me and what my role would be for this collaboration. So far I have identified the vast range of materials that she wants to produce to accompany her collection and brand. The design outcomes are still negotiable but generally, it's a live brief within the creative industry, something that I think will be quite exciting to work on, which would also produce work that would compliment other work in my portfolio.
The time scale of this is fairly long as she is still working on her collection, stretching through a period of around 4 weeks from start till finish, but probably aim to dedicate 1-2 days a week on it depending on the progress. I think this collaboration would really challenge my professional approach and ability to design to fulfill the client's satisfaction.
She has a few initial ideas, it seems like there's quite a lot of things that she wants to work on, so this will need to be clarified quite early on to prevent any problems later on.
