Von B & C

Recently discovered Swiss graphic design studio Von B & C; a 'cooperation between Barbara Hahn (B) and Christine Zimmermann (C)' They work within the fields of visual communication and data visuals predominately for printed output. They produce some very exciting work ranging from magazine rebrands to annual reports.

Rebrand for a Swiss magazine Collage.

Of B & C.
Amazing project dealing with the notion of data gathered from everyday.
*****more text to follow*****
'Graphic artists and designers, statisticians, geographers, architects and communications experts all work with data. The book demonstrates how depictive knowledge can be won from data records by means of innovative visualizations – beyond conventional graphical representations. In addition to nine developed visualizations, the book contains all data that was collected during the work process. «Of B and C» displays that language that is committed to content and readability can take on surprising form and travel unfamiliar paths. Using a Japanese book-binding method, the exterior pages contain the primary material – the data – while the inner pages present the visuals. These pages are perforated, so that they can be removed from the body of the book and then folded open to reveal large-scale posters.'

Room 204
Something quite interesting about the clinical feel of these photographs along with the type that sits comfortably on it. It's giving me some ideas of how we could approach the treatment of image and type when dealing with the interior design book.
